I
am a native Kansan who received my art training from the Kansas
City Art Institute, The Wichita Center for the Arts and workshops
with Edgar Whitney, Robert Wood, Milford Zornes, Stephan Quiller,
Mike Desatnick, Georg Shook and Judi Betts.
My
home and studio are located in the country ten miles southeast of
Lindsborg where the landscape, flowers and animals I love to paint
surround me. Located on the property is the restored Olive
Springs Schoolhouse built in 1885 which serves as an art gallery
to display my paintings and prints, along with memorabilia of the
country school era.

In
1997, I was honored with a "Thirty Year Retrospective
Exhibition" at the Sandzen Memorial Gallery in
Lindsborg. My paintings have been selected for numerous
juried shows including the following: Watercolor USA, Louisiana
Watercolor Society National Exhibit, Wichita Centennial National
Watercolor Exhibition, The Kansas Watercolor Society Shows, The
National Wildlife Exhibitions in Kansas City, Watercolors '93 and
'94 Shows sponsored by the Coutts Museum, "A Taste of the
Heartland" From the Land of Kansas Art Exhibition sponsored
by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, The Kansas Artists'
Postcard Series XVII, the 2001, 2002 and 2004 Oklahoma National
Watercolor Shows, the 2002 Missouri National Watercolor Show, and
2004 Seven State Kansas Watercolor Society Show. |

Awards
include: Top award - Invitational Watercolor Exhibit, Wichita
Center for the Arts. Three Purchase Awards in the Kansas
Watercolor Society Exhibits. Over thirty awards in other
juried exhibitions and have exhibited in 53 invitational
one-person shows.
My
paintings have been featured in the Kansas Magazine, Kansas
Wildlife Magazine, Kansas Country Living, Women's Household,
journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, PEO Record
and The High Plains Journal. They are also included in the
permanent collections of the Wichita Center for the Arts, Sandzen
Memorial Gallery, Hutchinson Art Association, Hutchinson Public
Library, and numerous corporate and private collections. |
